Club America coach Miguel Herrera was full of praise for Atlanta United but critical of his own team's performance in Wednesday's 3-2 Campeones Cup loss.

El Piojo hailed the Five Stripes for making the most of their chances while capitalizing on errors by las Águilas to deliver the result on goals from Emerson Hyndman, Jeff Larentowicz and Josef Martinez - the latter from the penalty spot.

"They played well. They took advantage of our mistakes", Herrera said in his post-match comments to the press.

"We weren't as effective as them."

"If we didn't make so many mistakes, I don't think we would've had this result."
